END OF SEASON CELEBRATIONS

As the final notes fade and participants take their final bow, we celebrate the season with performances, exhibitions, and projections. LABO social cultural programs of creative skills development have illuminated our lives, brought communities together, and demonstrated the profound beauty of human expression through art. We express our sincere appreciation to all the participants who made this season a resounding success. As we look forward, we carry the spirit of art within us, eternally grateful for the magic it has bestowed upon us.

End of season event of Audiovisual Program – 03/06/23

Beyond the technological marvels, our audiovisual program has harnessed the power of storytelling to touch hearts and provoke thought. Each creation was a narrative in its own right, weaving stories and emotions through visuals and sounds. From thought-provoking Stop Motion passing by fiction to emotionally charged short films, the program challenged our perspectives, fostering empathy, and facilitating conversations around social issues, youth personal journeys, and the human experience.

The essence and soul of our theatrical program are performances that leave the audience spellbound. The exceptional actors, with their dedication and mastery of their craft, bring the characters to life with depth, subtlety, and authenticity. Their performance had a crude emotional resonance, provoking laughter, tears and introspection that speaks of the social and economic crisis and how the poor suffer from it.

ART MEET TECHNOLOGY IN LABO

ART MEET TECHNOLOGY IN LABO

21-25 Mai 2023

As part of the development of the Live Room Project, our association signed a partnership agreement this year with the University of Burgos via its creative maker space La Estación de Ciencía y Tecnología. This agreement will allow the two parties to exchange their knowledge and experience in the management and implementation of creative programs for young people and children and in particular for the Technology and coding workshops applied in Robotics, 3D printing, and Augmented Reality, but also art programs and creative events for young people.

According to this partnership, Live Room seeks to launch two new Art and Technology programs for children in Tangier. It also aims to equip its executive staff with the necessary knowledge to do so.

The team of La Estación de Ciencía y Tecnología visited Tangier from May 21 to 25 to give two workshops in Chemistry and microscopic composition for children from the Lerchundi Center and another Augmented Reality initiation workshop for young people of the Live Room. FYI, La Estación is a project based in Burgos that has transformed the city’s old train station into a huge maker space that aims to promote vocations related to science, technology, engineering, art, and math for people of all ages.

Also, seeking to forge new local relationships and explore other similar projects in the Tangier region, the teams from the Live Room, the Lerchundi Center, and the guests from Burgos went to the American School of Tangier to visit their newly built Maker space and discuss the possibility of a future partnership for knowledge transfer and support for the new LABO Art and Technology programs. Volunteering at a Traditional Ramadan Celebration: An Experience to Cherish

Volunteering at a Traditional Ramadan Celebration: An Experience to Cherish

Ramadan is a holy month of fasting and spiritual reflection for Muslims around the world. During this month, communities come together to break their fast and celebrate their faith. As a volunteer for the Live Room organization, which organized a traditional Ramadan celebration, I had the privilege of witnessing the power of bringing together different generations for a night of fun and entertainment.

The goal of the event was to raise funds to purchase clothing for children in need for Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. Even more, it was an opportunity for people of all ages to come together and celebrate their cultural heritage, with volunteers and participants dressed alike in traditional attire. I was in charge of welcoming the guests and putting bracelets on for the young girls.

One of the highlights of the event was the live music and dance performances that showcased the richness of our cultural heritage. Both young and old folks were up on their feet, dancing and enjoying the festive atmosphere. It was truly heartwarming to see everyone coming together, forgetting their differences, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The event also featured a raffle and silent auction to help raise funds for the children’s clothing purchases.

It was inspiring to see how everyone was investing in making the event a success, and how the community came together to support a noble cause. As the night drew to a close, I felt a sense of pride and gratitude for being part of such a wonderful community. The event not only brought joy and entertainment to everyone involved but also helped support children in need. It was an experience I will always cherish.

In conclusion, volunteering at a traditional Ramadan celebration was an eye-opening and rewarding experience. It was incredible to see the power of bringing different generations together for a night of celebration and to support a noble cause. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a wonderful event and look forward to volunteering for similar events in the future.
